Q&A with Donor and Volunteer, Suchi Sairam

One of those champions is Suchi Sairam — founder and director of Kala Vandanam, longtime donor, past board member, and dedicated volunteer. We sat down with Suchi to learn more about her connection to WomenVenture and why she continues to elevate women entrepreneurs.
How did you first hear about WomenVenture?
I first learned about WomenVenture while working at Imation Corp. in the early 2000s. I was selected to attend a WomenVenture event as part of the company’s contingent. It was such an honor to be chosen — and to attend.
What inspired you to get involved with WomenVenture?
I’ve always appreciated that WomenVenture is dedicated to supporting women’s career development and entrepreneurial dreams. Early in my own career, I saw it as an opportunity to give back, continue learning and growing, and connect with incredible women leaders in our community.
Why do you continue to support WomenVenture today?
WomenVenture has evolved so beautifully over the years. I love how the organization focuses on equipping women entrepreneurs with the tools and resources they need for success, along with access to capital. As an entrepreneur myself, I understand the power of women lifting each other up. It’s a joy and privilege to continue supporting this mission.
What do you hope to accomplish through your philanthropy?
I hope to be part of a larger collective that recognizes the incredible value women bring to small business. It’s about building a culture that celebrates women on “Main Street” and giving them what they need to make a lasting impact — for themselves, their families, and their communities.
What do you wish everyone knew about WomenVenture?
WomenVenture’s superpower is the intersection of business expertise and community building. That combination is powerful — and it’s changing lives.
