Tina Wells to Headline WomenVenture Fall Event Luncheon on November 7
The WomenVenture Fall Event luncheon is a celebration of women and entrepreneurs. It brings together a wide range of professionals, community leaders and individuals, each sharing a common desire to invest in the economic success of women. This year, WomenVenture welcomes as its keynote speaker, Tina Wells, CEO and founder of Buzz Marketing Group—an award-winning agency dedicated to bridging the gap between teens and the businesses trying to reach them.
At age 16, Tina embraced her passion for fashion and pop culture, and began writing product reviews for a teen-targeted newspaper. With the guidance of a professor who was also her mentor, she launched Buzz Marketing while she was still in college. Before she turned 30, Tina had developed a worldwide network of 9,000+ teen consultants (“BuzzSpotters”) that helped shape innovative marketing strategies for numerous beauty, entertainment, fashion, financial and lifestyle clients, such as Maidenform, SonyBMG and PBS.
Tina is also an author, a member of the United Nations Global Entrepreneurs Council, and she has received numerous honors. Awards have included Billboard Magazine’s 30 Under 30, Inc Magazine’s 30 Under 30 and Essence Magazine’s 40 Under 40. WomenVenture Fall Event audience members will hear about Tina’s journey as a highly motivated teenager who created a business plan in college that continues to guide her enterprise today.
The Fall Event program will be hosted by local radio personality and singer, Jearlyn Steele. Attendees will learn about the impact that WomenVenture has in the community and the critical services the organization provides. Featured WomenVenture clients will share their inspirational paths to success and each will be presented with the organization’s prestigious Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained award.
The event will also include a Marketplace with more than 30 vendor booths from local and women-owned businesses, including several WomenVenture entrepreneurial clients presenting their products and services. Guests will have the opportunity to shop while networking with friends and colleagues, and make new business connections.
“WomenVenture’s Fall Event is a significant day of generating support for our programs and services,” said WomenVenture Executive Director Elaine Wyatt. “The money raised on this single day allows us to guide hundreds of women in their journeys to start and grow their small businesses in Minnesota throughout the entire year.”
