Biography
Joanna Schnedler joins the WomenVenture team as Chief Financial Officer with over 20 years of nonprofit management experience, which has culminated in a passion for the financial side of nonprofits. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Theater from Simpson College, and a Master of Nonprofit Management and Master of Business Administration from Hamline University.
Immediately prior to WomenVenture, Joanna served as Chief Financial Officer and COR Administrator for ELEA HEALY, a women-owned home renovation design and build firm. Much of Joanna’s career has been focused in the performing arts, including Executive Director of the Minnesota Music Coalition and Executive Director of the Minnesota Theater Alliance, both statewide arts service organizations that included building industry-wide partnerships, creating tourism initiatives, implementing various resources for artists, and convening conferences and workshops on career development for professional artists and administrative competencies for performing arts organizations.
Additional past roles have included General Manager of the Fitzgerald Theatre/Minnesota Public Radio, and fund development roles for Episcopal Community Services, a statewide nonprofit social service organization and a social enterprise called Rebuild Resources that served people re-entering society following incarceration. She currently serves as Board Treasurers for The Moving Company theatre and the Department of Public Transformation, a nonprofit that serves rural artists.
Joanna is a busy mom of two, a hobbyist musician, an avid gardener, and is working her way through the 1,001 Movies to See Before You Die list. (currently at 487 viewed!)
